Trigger Point Therapy Massage
Trigger point therapy is a massage technique that focuses on identifying and releasing trigger points which are hyperirritable spots in the muscles that can cause referred pain and discomfort. These trigger points are often associated with areas of muscle tension, overuse, or injury.
During trigger point therapy sustained pressure is applied to specific points in the muscle tissue, typically using fingers, thumbs, or elbows. This pressure helps to release the tension in the muscle fibers and alleviate the pain associated with the trigger point.
Trigger point therapy can be used to address a variety of musculoskeletal issues, including tension headaches, neck and shoulder pain, lower back pain, and sports-related injuries. It is often integrated into massage sessions, or performed as a standalone treatment upon request.
