Sports Massage
Sports massage is suitable not just for athletes and individuals involved in physical activities but for any person with aches, pains, or injury. A sports massage treatment will usually begin with a postural and movement assessment to identify muscle imbalances and the causation of pain or dysfunction. This type of massage typically involves deep tissue massage, stretching and other specialised techniques to address muscle tension, soreness and imbalances. The treatment will be tailored to your specific issues. Sports massage can also be used for injury prevention and increasing performance.
For sports massage treatments, we recommended wearing comfortable shorts, or stretchy sports shorts and for women, a strappy top or sports/bra. Something that you are comfortable in and happy dressing down to – the therapist may need to test the range of movement, along with completing a visual assessment of the area of concern, prior to treatment. It is therefore important that clothing not be restrictive.
